Privacy Policy

PDF Reader & Viewer · package com.veeiq.fastpdfreader · Effective 28 October 2026
The short version. PDF Reader & Viewer works offline, has no account and no sign-up. The documents you open are read on your device and never uploaded to us. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google needs to serve an advertisement, or to process a purchase.

1. Who we are

PDF Reader & Viewer is developed and published by VeeiQ ("we", "us"). For any question about this policy or your data, contact [email protected]. Where Google acts as an independent controller — for advertising and payment processing — Google's own privacy policy also applies.

2. What stays on your device

The following is created and kept only in the app's private storage on your phone, and is not transmitted to us or anyone else: • the documents shown in your library (file name, size, last-opened time) • bookmarks, reading positions, favourites and categories you assign • annotations, highlights and drawings you add to a page • app settings — theme, night mode, auto-scroll speed, app lock If you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings, all of the above is deleted. We hold no copy and cannot restore it.

3. Files on your device

To show the PDFs already on your phone, the app asks for "All files access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). With that permission it can list PDF documents and open the one you choose. It does not read, collect or upload the contents of your documents, and it does not modify a file unless you explicitly rename or delete it from inside the app. You can decline the permission and still open single documents through Android's system file picker.

4. No account, no analytics

There is no login and no profile. The app ships no third-party analytics or crash reporting SDK, and we do not build a behavioural profile of what you read. Crash and performance diagnostics shown to us in Play Console are collected by Google Play as part of the Android platform, not by code we ship.

5. Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To do that, Google may process your advertising ID and app-set ID, IP address and coarse (city-level) location derived from it, device type, OS version, language and the ad that was shown. We never receive your advertising ID; we only see aggregate revenue reports. Ads are not placed on document pages — they appear on library and list screens only. Your choices: In the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent form is shown before any personalised ad is requested, and you can change that choice later from Settings → Ad privacy settings or by clearing app data. On any device you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Buying Pro removes ads entirely and stops ad requests. Where required, the legal basis for personalised advertising is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)); non-personalised ads and fraud prevention rely on legitimate interest. California and other US state residents may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising through the same consent control. We do not sell personal information for money. Google's practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

6. Purchases

The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we never see or store your card number, billing address or full name. We receive only whether the purchase is active, so the app can unlock Pro features.

7. Permissions and why

The app requests only what is strictly required to read documents and operate cleanly. The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, precise location or SMS access.

8. Children

PDF Reader & Viewer is a general-purpose document tool, is not directed at children under 13 and is not part of Google Play's Designed for Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

Documents and your library never leave the device, so there is no server-side store of your reading to breach. Locally stored data is protected by Android's app sandbox, and the optional app lock adds a device-credential check before the library opens. Network requests for ads and billing use HTTPS.

10. Retention

We retain nothing about you on our own systems. Data on your device is kept until you delete it, clear app data or uninstall the app. Google retains advertising and purchase records under its own retention policies.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no personal data about you, these rights work like this: • Access and deletion: everything the app stores is on your device, so clear app data or uninstall; there is no account to delete. • Advertising choices: change consent in the app or reset your advertising ID in Android settings. • Questions or complaints: write to [email protected]; EU/UK residents may also complain to their local data protection authority.

12. International transfers

Where Google processes data for ads or payments it may do so outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in Google's privacy policy.

13. Changes to this policy

If a future version changes what is collected — for example by adding crash reporting or an account — this page will be updated before that version ships and the effective date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the Play Store release notes.
